Thar accident in Delhi: A fierce accident occurred on Sunday morning near 11 idol landmark in Chanakyapuri area of Delhi. One high speed Thar crushed two people, killing one passenger and the other is struggling for life. Police said that both were taken to AIIMS Trauma Center, where one was declared dead. Another is being treated. The victims have not been identified yet. According to an official, a white Mahindra Thar Rock coming from the direction of Dhaula Kuan came off the road and hit the pavement, where he hit two people. The police seized Thar and found a bottle of liquor in it. The driver was identified as Ashish, a resident of Shakarpur in East Delhi, who was returning home from Dhaula Kuan.
A front wheel of Thar uprooted
People said that the speed of the vehicle was so fast that one of its next wheel was uprooted. An eyewitness said that he saw Thar walking at a fast pace and slipping, and then stopped with a strong bang. The person said that it was very scary. Someone shouted ‘Banda Kara Diya’ on the road. A police vehicle immediately came to help and took the injured to the hospital. Another source associated with the investigation said that there is a possibility that the driver would have napped and lost control, or he could be drunk. The source said that on August 1, the driver’s vehicle was fined for overseasing. Police came to know that the vehicle owes a fine of Rs 2,000.
Police arrested driver
An official said that a patrol saw the accident at around 6.30 am. The official said that one of the policemen immediately made a PCR call and requested an ambulance. The injured were taken to the AIIMS Trauma Center without delay. Initial investigation has revealed that Ashish was going towards his house in Shakarpur. Currently, the status of his business is not clear. However, he has worked as the first driver. The police is investigating the CCTV footage of the area to know the correct sequence of the incident. After the accident, the police have caught the Thar driver.
