After this, many important decisions have been taken in the 56th meeting of GST Council. The government has given a big gift to the general public before Diwali. Its effect will be seen on their pockets. This gift of the government is going to be available to the common citizens from 22 September. In such a situation, everyday things will become cheaper with food and drink.

GST Council’s big decision

The GST Council met on 3 September in which many major decisions have been taken. Now only 5 and 18 percent tax slab has been kept while 12 and 28 percent slabs have been abolished. The products included in the 12 percent slab have been kept in 5 percent slab. At the same time, most of the products with 28 percent have been kept in the 18% slab. Since this decision of the central government, everyday items will be cheap and medicines have been completely excluded from tax. Among the things that have fallen in the price, there are many things including roti, cheese and milk which have been made GST free.

GST rate on some things

Apart from these, the GST rate has been reduced to zero on some things. This means that GST 0 will be imposed on these things from 22 September. Due to this, their prices will be low and all these things will become cheaper. So let us know which are the items that come in this category.

  • UHT (Ultra-high temperature) milk
  • Pizza bread

Changes in medicines and health insurance also

This decision of the central government has brought great relief to the common people. The government has made many medicines tax free. At the same time, health-life policy has also been excluded from the purview of GST. In the GST Council meeting, 33 life saving medicines GST have been abolished. Earlier, 12 percent tax was levied on them.
