The posting, which started from Hyderabad, soon took him to Kashmir, where his brave operations with 38 Rashtriya Rifles earned him the COAS Commendation Card. But Mohit Sharma did not just want to become a soldier, rather his destination was to join the most challenging unit of the Indian Army – 1 Para (Special Force). Then in the year 2003, Mohit joined it and in 2004 he accomplished the feat for which he got a medal. Actually, this was an undercover operation, in which Mohit, posing as ‘Iftikhar Bhat’, mingled with the terrorists and eliminated them. a true artist

People often think that commandos only know fighting, but Mohit Sharma was the biggest exception to this. Wherever he was posted, he would spread music. Mohit’s friends tell that he could learn any instrument in a short time. Well, there was love in his life too. He married Lieutenant Colonel (then Major) Rishima Sharma.

the last fight

March 21, 2009 and the dense forest of Kupwara. As soon as the news of the presence of terrorists was received, Major Sharma reached the spot with his team. There was continuous firing, four commandos were injured, but Major Sharma did not step back. He fought back, saved his comrades and killed 4 terrorists. After being badly injured himself, Mohit Sharma kept fighting and was finally martyred. This was the same day which made him immortal.
