Chhath Traffic Advisory: In view of Chhath festival, Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory, according to which there is a possibility of severe traffic jam on some roads.

Chhath Traffic Advisory: Today is the third and most important day of Chhath Mahaparva. Today and tomorrow, thousands of Biharis living in Delhi will reach the ghat and offer prayers to the sun. In such a situation, there is a possibility of severe traffic jam on all the roads leading to the ghat. To avoid jam, Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory. You must also read the advisory of Delhi Traffic Police before leaving home. According to the advisory, there is a possibility of traffic disruption on the roads adjacent to the major Chhath Puja ponds from Monday afternoon to Tuesday morning. Passengers have been advised to avoid roads near the ghats and use public transport as far as possible.

There will be jam on these roads

Delhi Police wrote in the X Post, special traffic arrangements will be in place in view of Chhath Puja 2025 to be celebrated across Delhi from the afternoon of 27th October to the morning of 28th October. There is a possibility of heavy traffic jam on these roads.

  • There is a possibility of heavy crowding near major ponds in East, Central/North, South/South-East, North-West/Outer and West Delhi.
  • Roads likely to be crowded: MB Road, Kalindi Kunj Khadar Road, Agra Canal Road and Road No. 13.
  • Due to traffic diversion in Bhajanpura, Gandhi Nagar and Khajuri Khas areas, passengers are advised to plan their journey accordingly.
  • Use public transport, especially Delhi Metro, and avoid roadside parking.
  • Immediately report any suspicious object/person to the police.
  • Stay updated through Delhi Traffic Police channels.

Thousands of devotees will gather at the ghats

In East and North-East Delhi, a large number of devotees are expected to gather at Gandhi Nagar Chhath Pujan Samiti Boat Ghat near the Old Iron Bridge, Purvanchal Nav Nirman Sangathan Ghat near Geeta Colony and Satyamev Jayate Ghat. More than 45,000 devotees are expected to visit each ghat.

Noida Traffic Police also issued advisory

In view of Chhath Puja, Noida Police has also given information about the roads that will be blocked. Noida Police wrote on X, It is proposed to celebrate the festival of Chhath Puja mainly at the following places like Yamuna River (Kalindi Kunj), Hindan River Bridge Kuleshara, Chotpur / Bahlopur Sector-63 and Noida Stadium Sector-21A, in view of which to provide easy and safe transport system to the general public, from 27.10.2025 to 28.10.2025 as per requirement. Diversion of heavy/medium/light goods vehicles will be done. Medical/fire service vehicles will be exempted from the above restriction.

  • Vehicles going towards Delhi via Noida-Greater Noida Expressway via Kalindi Border will be diverted from Charkha roundabout towards Dalit Prerna Sthal. These vehicles will be able to go towards their destination through DND/Chilla.
  • Traffic going from Sector 37 towards Kalindi Border will be diverted towards Dalit Prerna Sthal from Mahamaya Flyover. This traffic will be able to go towards its destination through DND/Chilla.
  • Traffic going from Surajpur towards Kuleshra/Phase-2 will be diverted from the unpaved road Tiraha towards Chauganpur roundabout. This traffic will be able to go towards its destination via Bisrakh roundabout.
  • Traffic going from Phase-2 towards Hindon River will be diverted from Phase-2 towards Kakrala. This traffic will be able to go towards its destination via Sorkha, Bisarkh.
  • Traffic going from Kisan Chowk towards Parthala will be diverted from Kisan Chowk towards Bisrakh. This traffic will be able to go towards its destination via Bisarkh, Sorkha, Parthala.
  • Traffic going from Parthala towards Kisan Chowk will be diverted from Parthala roundabout towards Sorkha. This traffic will be able to go towards its destination via Sorkha Bisarkh.
  • In case of any traffic related inconvenience, the public can contact “helpline number 9971009001”. Use alternative routes to avoid inconvenience.
