Mumbai: Oscar winner AR Rahman says that there are both good and bad aspects of the use of artificial intelligence in music, but the chaos will spread if it is not controlled. Musicians are not against the new technology in music and in fact they used an AI software to re -create the voice of late singers Bamba Bakya and Shahul Hameed for the track ‘Thimiri Yezhuda’ starring Rajinikanth. But he did this with proper permission from the family of musicians.
Rahman admitted that the use of AI in music has increased wildly. Said that I do not know what would mean to tie a bell around the cat’s neck. Some songs are very dirty, yet they come out in the voice of popular singers. It needs to be controlled because if this does not happen, there will be chaos.
This concern was expressed by the musician in an interview to PTI. Music masters, named two Oscars, one Golden Globe and Grammy, said that it is important to have rules for moral use of AI technology. It has both good and bad aspects, and good things should be used to empower those who never got a chance to implement their vision. But it is bad for us to use it incorrectly. It is like mixing poison in oxygen and taking it through breath. There should be some rules, such as some things you cannot do.
He said that as they talk about morality or behavior in society, it is also behaving in software and digital world. Rahman is currently working on his much awaited “The Wondering Tour”, which will be held on May 3 at the DY Patil Stadium. The global premiere of ‘The Wonderment Tour’ is a grand concert under the aegis of the Waves Summit to be held from 1 to 4 May.

The 58 -year -old musician has several projects, including the romantic film “Tere Ishq Mein”, Mani Ratnam’s “Thug Life”, Rajkumar Santoshi’s “Lahore 1947”, Meena Kumari’s biopic and “Gandhi Series” directed by Hansal Mehta. He is again joining Imtiaz for his next film after “Chamkila”. He said that the “Gandhi series” is unexpectedly beautiful. I never thought that it would be such a beautiful experience. Working with Hansal Mehta and Sameer Nair was attractive.
