The government announced that those killed during the protests of Gen Z on 8 and 9 September will be declared “martyr” and their families would be given a million Nepali rupees, while free treatment of the injured will be ensured.
PM office will remain in the Ministry of Home Affairs
He also directed the Chief Secretary one Narayan Aryal to arrange for repairing the police posts that were destroyed across the country. Since the Singh Darbar Secretariat and the Prime Minister’s Office were set on fire during the two -day agitation, the newly constructed building for the Ministry of Home Affairs will be used as the Prime Minister’s Office within the Singh Durbar premises. It may be known that the movement, which began last Monday against the government ban on social media, soon turned into a big campaign, which shows public anger on corruption and alleged indifference of political parties.
