‘Those who killed innocent people, killed them’: Rajnath Singh

Operation Sindoor: The Defense Minister said, “We only killed those who killed our innocents. Our forces took this action with accuracy, vigilance and humanity.

Operation Sindoor: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh expressed pride in the success of the recent operation of the Indian Army, calling it a befitting reply against India against terrorism. Under this operation, the Indian Army destroyed 9 terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK). Rajnath Singh compared this action of the army to Hanuman ji’s campaign in Ashok Vatika and said that the army, following the ideals of Hanuman ji, targeted only those who killed the innocent people.

The Defense Minister said, “We killed only those who killed our innocents. Our forces did this action with accuracy, vigilance and humanity. No citizen’s hideout was damaged. This operation was like Hanuman ji, who destroyed the demonic structure.” He also appreciated the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi while bowing to the bravery of the Indian Army.

Revenge of Pahalgam attack

The basis of Operation Sindoor was a terrorist attack on 22 April 2025 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in which 25 Indians and 1 Nepali citizens were killed by terrorists associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba. This attack was described as a conspiracy to dissolve the restoration of peace in Jammu and Kashmir. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said, “This attack was clearly done to stop development and general situation in the region. India has retaliated against terrorism.”

Accurate and restrained action

Operation Sindoor was carried out by the Indian Air Force through Rafale aircraft and scalp missiles. According to defense sources, high -tech weapons such as standoff cruise missiles, BVR systems and lotteries were used in this campaign. The action was limited to terrorist training camps and their infrastructure, so that there is no harm to the civil areas.

The Defense Minister said in his statement, “We carried out this campaign with the slogan of Bharat Mata Ki Jai. It is the right to response of India. I give gratitude to the entire army and Prime Minister Modi ji.” He also added that Prime Minister Modi was active overnight under the operation and supervision of the operation.

Pakistan’s response and India’s vigilance

After the operation, Pakistan closed its airspace for 48 hours and opened fire on the border. The Indian Army gave a strong reply to this. Pakistani Defense Minister Khwaja Asif claimed that India targeted civil bases, but India clarified that only the terrorists were targets. Due to security reasons, India has temporarily closed several important airports including Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Amritsar, Chandigarh till May 10. High alert has been issued in the border areas of Punjab and Haryana.

Opposition and public support

The ruling BJP and opposition parties showed solidarity regarding Operation Sindoor. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said, “This was the right way to answer.” At the same time, Congress MP Kumari Selja bowed to the might of the army. The families of those killed in the Pahalgam attack thanked Prime Minister Modi by linking the name of the operation with the honor of women.

The Ministry of Defense shared detailed information about the operation at a press conference at 10 am on Wednesday. Foreign Secretary Vikram Egypt, Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh said that the action was in line with the United Nations Security Council’s statement of April 25. India clarified that it would further strengthen its fight against terrorism.
