Bihar Election Result: Opposition CPI (ML) Liberation general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya on Sunday described the results of Bihar assembly elections as unexpected. Said that this is the result of three experiments. According to him, these experiments are transfer of Rs 10,000 to women as the first installment of Mahila Rojgar Yojana, deletion and addition of names in the SIR process and transfer of land to a corporate house at throwaway price. CPI (ML), a constituent of the RJD-led grand alliance, could win only two out of the 20 seats it had contested. Speaking to reporters, Bhattacharya claimed that the election dates were not announced until all the targeted welfare schemes of the government, including the provision of Rs 10,000 for women, were implemented. This is an unprecedented and unique experiment in the electoral history of India.

Election results described as unexpected

The CPI (ML) L leader asserted that deletion of 65 lakh votes through SIR and addition of 3.5-4 lakh votes before the elections had an impact on the results. He claimed that SIR was the second major experiment in the laboratory of Bihar. Bhattacharya described the third experiment as the transfer of a piece of land to a corporate house at throwaway prices. The Left leader said that the issue was raised by the opposition, but it had no impact on the people. He said that these three experiments can decide the direction and agenda of Indian politics in the times to come. Describing the election results as unusual, beyond our expectations and understanding, he said that the party and the alliance will consider this aspect to decide the future strategy.

Will take feedback from the public from 18th to 24th November

He said that from November 18 to 24, our candidates and party workers will go among the people as part of the feedback and public relations campaign. He further said that we need to stop these experiments otherwise there will be no equal opportunities in politics. Comparing it with the 2010 Bihar elections when the NDA had registered a similar victory, Bhattacharya said that then Nitish Kumar’s stature was rising. But this time people’s sentiments towards his government and the NDA government at the Center were declining. The CPI (ML) L general secretary said there is an anomaly in India’s electoral politics as there is usually a mismatch between the vote percentage and seats obtained. He said that since the 2020 elections, our votes have remained more or less the same, but he said that there has been a huge decline in the number of seats.
