New Delhi: A member of the Tillu Tajpuria gang has been arrested after an encounter in Sarojini Nagar area of Delhi. According to the police, Manjit alias Dada of Haryana was wanted in a murder case registered in Alipur, North Delhi. Police said that during the shootout, he was shot in his leg and he is undergoing treatment. On Tuesday, the accused was arrested for the murder of rival Gogi gang member Karan Thapa, who was shot dead by bike -wise attackers in Nehru Enclave area of Alipur on 28 March. A senior police officer said that he was taken to Harishchandra Hospital, where he succumbed. Preliminary investigation by the police has revealed that there was a deep and violent rivalry between Tillu Tajpuria and Gogi gang behind the murder.
Gangster was doing work on Paksma’s instructions
Three people in the case were identified as Manjit alias Dada of Nangloi, Neeraj alias Bhura and Himanshu alias Monu of Bahrod in Rajasthan. Himanshu, who took the reconnaissance of the area before the attack, was already arrested, while the other two were absconding. Based on the information about Manjeet’s activities, the police laid a trap in Sarojini Nagar. The official said that when Manjit was stopped, he tried to escape and fired three rounds on the police team. In retaliation, the police also fired bullets, causing injuries to the accused’s leg and arrested. During interrogation, Manjeet revealed that he was working on the instructions of gangster Deepak Paksma alias Bhola, who took charge of Tillu Tajpuria gang after the murder of Tajpuria in Tihar Jail in 2023. He said that it is believed that Paksma is working from abroad and is conducting gang activities from there.

Manjeet, along with his companions Neeraj and Himanshu, allegedly fired several rounds of bullets at Thapa, killing him. Manjit, a resident of Humayumpur village in Rohtak, studied up to 12th from a government school and enrolled in ITI Kharkhauda, but left his studies. He later joined the gang and became an active member, participating in several crimes. Police said that it had previously been involved in six criminal cases related to attempt to murder, forcible recovery and violation of the Arms Act in Delhi and Haryana. These include special cells in Delhi and cases registered in various police stations of Rohtak, Sampla and Kharkhauda in Haryana, including the case of gang rape and poxo of 2019. Police said a pistol, three cartridges, a stolen motorcycle and a mobile phone were recovered from him at the time of arrest. Efforts are on to find out his colleague Neeraj and find other aspects related to other works of Tillu Tajpuria gang.
