The death of the train manager caused chaos in the family. On Monday evening, the train manager died in a collision with a second freight train while applying the handbrake of the goods train at Jakhaura station of Jhansi Railway Division.
On the information, RPF and railway officials also reached the spot. Devendra Kumar (58), a resident of Khushipura, was working as a train manager in the railway. He was going from Jhansi towards Bina with a goods train. On not getting the signal, the goods train was stopped in the loop line at Jakhaura station of Jhansi Railway Division. After this, he was getting down from the train at around five in the evening and applying handbreaks of wagons.
Meanwhile, a freight train came out of the third line up -loop line of the nearby line, which Devendra Kumar died after being hit. On the information, other staff including the station master reached the spot. They were taken to the railway hospital by ambulance. The doctors here declared him dead. As soon as the news of the train manager’s death, a large number of railwaymen reached the railway hospital. The officers assured the employees that all the departmental facilities would be given to the families under the rules.
