Jodhpur Road Accident: A horrific road accident took place on Bharatmala Expressway in Phalodi district of Rajasthan late on Sunday evening. A tempo traveler rammed into a truck parked on the road. 15 people have died in this accident. Police said that on Sunday evening, a tempo traveler collided with a parked trailer truck in Phalodi area of ​​Rajasthan, in which at least 15 people, including 10 women and four children, were killed and two others were injured.

Everyone was returning from the temple

Jodhpur Police Commissioner Om Prakash said that the accident happened near Matoda village on Bharat Mala Highway when the tempo traveler was taking devotees from Kolayat Temple in Bikaner to Jodhpur. “15 passengers died on the spot, while two women were seriously injured. The injured were first taken to a hospital in Osian and later referred to Jodhpur,” the official said. According to officials, all the victims were residents of Nainchi Bagh near Chandpol Bada Ramdevra in Jodhpur. He told that he was returning from Kolayat temple in Bikaner after offering prayers at Kapil Muni Ashram on the occasion of Devuthani Ekadashi.

Traveler rammed into truck while trying to overtake

Mahipal Saran, who was present at the time of the accident, said that there were small roadside dhabas on Bharat Mala Highway. He said, “The trailer truck was standing in front of one of those dhabas. The tempo traveler running at high speed was trying to overtake a truck, when suddenly it collided with the parked trailer. The collision was so strong that the front part of the tempo traveler was completely shattered. Osian Upazila Hospital in-charge, Dr. Pradeep Singh Choudhary said that all the bodies were taken to Jodhpur’s Mathuradas for post-mortem. Mathur and has been sent to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, which will be done on Monday morning. Many bodies were stuck between the seats, which the police had to struggle a lot to remove.

Prime Minister announced ex-gratia

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the loss of life and property in the incident and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund for the next of kin of each deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured. Expressing his condolences in a post on Twitter, Prime Minister Modi said, “I am saddened by the death of people in the accident in Phalodi, Rajasthan. My condolences are with the bereaved families. I wish for the speedy recovery of the injured.” This accident happened about 80 kilometers ahead of Jodhpur.

CM Bhajanlal expressed grief

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma also expressed deep grief over the tragedy and directed officials to provide all possible assistance to the victims’ families and ensure proper medical care for the injured. Expressing condolences, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that this incident is very sad. Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Health Minister Gajendra Singh and former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and other leaders also expressed grief over this tragic accident.
