Donald Trump Warning: US President Donald Trump is furious again. He has once again warned the world regarding tariffs that he is making strict plans to teach a lesson to the countries doing business with Russia. Donald Trump said “very strong sanctions” would be imposed on any country that does business with Russia, as his administration and Republican lawmakers move to enact tougher laws against Moscow.
Iran also blacklisted
Asked by reporters on Sunday whether it was time for Congress to pass measures to put pressure on Russia and President Vladimir Putin, Trump said, “I’ve heard they’re doing that and I have no objection to that.” He said, “We are passing laws… We are passing laws to impose very tough sanctions on any country that does business with Russia. We can also include Iran in this… I suggested it.”
50 percent tariff imposed on India
The Trump administration has imposed 50 percent tariff on India, which is one of the highest tariffs in the world. Trump has imposed 25 percent additional duty on India on the purchase of Russian energy. A bill introduced by Senator Lindsey Graham proposes a 500 percent tariff on the purchase and resale of Russian oil. This proposal has almost unanimous support in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Graham and Senator Richard Blumenthal have jointly introduced the Russia Sanctions Act of 2025, which aims to “impose secondary tariffs and sanctions on countries that are financially supporting Putin’s brutal war in Ukraine.”
Meanwhile, Trump imposed sanctions on Russia’s two largest oil companies, Rosneft and Lukoil. Under this, all the assets of Rosneft and Lukoil in America have been confiscated and American citizens have been banned from doing any kind of financial transactions with these companies.
Russia warned
Despite all the threats from President Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin is adamant on not ending the war with Ukraine. Last month, Putin had said, “No self-respecting country and no self-respecting person takes any decision under pressure.” He warned that US sanctions could lead to a surge in global oil prices, which would also impact Washington.
