South Africa G-20 Summit: US President Trump has refused to attend the summit to be held in South Africa. He said that I will not go to represent my country.
South Africa G-20 Summit : US President Donald Trump will not attend the G-20 summit to be held in South Africa later this month. He said in an event that I am not going and South Africa should not be in the G-20 because what happened there was very bad. Trump also said that I have told him that he is not going to represent his country in South Africa. Besides, the US President has also raised questions on South Africa’s membership in this organization. Let us tell you that South Africa took over the presidency of G-20 for one year from December 1, 2024 and will host the summit in Johannesburg from November 22-23.
Trump refused to attend the conference
Donald Trump, while addressing America Business Forum Miami in Florida on Wednesday, said that I am not going and there is a G-20 meeting in South Africa. The US will take over the presidency of the G-20 from South Africa on December 1, 2025, and will chair the group until November 30, 2026. Trump had previously said he planned to host the G-20 summit in 2026 at his golf club near Miami. At the same time, India held the G-20 presidency from December 2022 to November 2023 and hosted the 18th G-20 summit in New Delhi in September 2023.
These countries are included in G-20 group
At present, the G20 consists of 19 countries, mainly Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, Britain and the US as well as the European Union and the African Union. Let us tell you that when India was hosting the G-20 summit, the African Union was made a permanent member of this organization.
