Two big terrorist modules busted in Punjab, RDX seized

The Punjab Police has arrested 13 members of two big ISI -backed Khalistani terrorist modules being run from abroad. Other weapons along with two rocket-propelled grenades, two hand grenades, IEDs and RDX have been seized from them.

Chandigarh: The Punjab Police has arrested 13 members of two big ISI -backed Khalistani terrorist modules being run from abroad. Other weapons along with two rocket-propelled grenades, two hand grenades, IEDs and RDX have been seized from them. Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said on Saturday that these modules were being controlled from abroad through the banned terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) in France in France and Jaswinder alias Mannu Agwan in Greece.

ISI conspiracy fails

The DGP said that along with busting these modules, the Punjab Police has failed the conspiracy hatched by Pakistan’s detective agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) to spoil peace and harmony in the border state. The DGP said that the police have confronted two rocket-profiled grenades (RPGs), two IEDs (each), two hand grenade with detonators, two kg RDX with remote control with detonators, five pistols (beretta and bank), six magazines, 44 live cartridges, a wireless set and three vehicles.

Sharing the operation details, Assistant Inspector General, CI Jalandhar, Navjot Singh Mahal said that in an Intel-based operation, the police teams arrested Jagroop Singh of Basti Amritsarian in Hoshiarpur, Jatinder Singh alias Honey of Daburji of Kapurthala, Harpreet Singh of Hoshiarpur and Jagjit Singh of Kapurthala.

He said that further investigation is being done to find out this entire network and previous crimes. Yadav said that Satnam’s name was revealed in 2010 in the IED and RDX seizure case. Regarding the second module, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Batala Suhail Qasim Mir said that police teams arrested nine people, including a 17 -year -old teenager, in a week -long intelligence campaign.

The other eight arrested people have been identified as Pawanpreet Singh, Balbir Kumar alias Varun, Gomji alias Gotta, Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi, Ajaypal Singh, Rahul alias Bhaiya and Johanson, all Batala residents and Jatinder, residents of Kapurthala. The SSP said that the investigation is going on and more arrests are expected in the coming days. Two separate FIRs have been lodged in the police stations of Amritsar and Batala under the respective sections of the illegal activities (prevention) Act (UAPA) and Explosives Act respectively.
