New Delhi: In Delhi’s Ranhaula area, two sisters strangled their mother to death, as they took the brother’s side in a dispute of sharing of ancestral property. The police officer said on Friday that the youngest was arrested earlier. The elder daughter (46) was absconding for almost a year in connection with the brutal murder of her mother in December 2023.
Bahu saw the mother -in -law’s blood -soaked body
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Harsh Indora said that the deceased had gone to their farm to feed their cattle in the early hours of December 30, 2023. Later his daughter -in -law saw her body in the fodder room. The Deputy Commissioner of Police said that there was no electricity. When the daughter -in -law was looking for a broom in the dark, she saw her mother -in -law’s blood -soaked face. Seeing this, he made noise. The woman informed her husband. Police reached the information and saw that the elderly woman was strangled.
Accused confessed to murdering sister
Initial investigation has revealed that the murder was the result of a family dispute over ancestral property, as daughters were worried about the sharing of property. The DCP said that the youngest daughter was arrested soon after the incident, while the other accused managed to escape. He could not be detected for months. The officer said that during interrogation, the accused confessed to conspiring to murder his sister. She told the police that she was under financial stress and was angry with her mother, as she took the brother’s side. The mother refused to give her a share in family property.
Brother took possession of sister’s plot
He said that his father had given a plot of 600 square yards to the first younger sister, which the brother captured, which further increased the tension in the family. On the morning of the incident, both sisters booked a cab. Traveled to Ranhaula and carried out the murder with a knife of the kitchen. The accused was arrested from Nanda Enclave in Najafgarh after a secret information about his possible hideout. Police said that the accused was using several SIM cards and was roaming at various places to avoid identity.
