Maharashtra Politics: In Maharashtra too, demands are being raised regarding irregularities in the voter list and former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said that our demand is that elections should be held after improving the voter list.
Maharashtra Politics : There is political turmoil in Maharashtra before the local elections and the opposition is continuously attacking the government. In Maharashtra, the opposition alliance Mahavikas Aghadi is opposing the SIR, because Maharashtra is also included in the SIR starting from Tuesday. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray said on Monday that the voter list should be checked before the local body elections in Maharashtra. He also refuted the allegations of appeasement politics of the ruling BJP regarding irregularities in the voters list. He said that Shiv Sena (UBT) and other opposition parties have not mentioned any fake voter list.
Z generation is scared of the central government
During the press conference, Uddhav Thackeray alleged that the Election Commission and the Central Government are afraid of Generation Z. He claimed that those who complete 18 years of age after July 1 will be deprived of their franchise as the Election Commission has set July 1 as the last date for voter eligibility in the upcoming local body elections. Thackeray said that the Election Commission should correct all the mistakes including duplicate and fake names in the voters list. Thackeray further said that we are not opposing the elections but we want that elections should be conducted only after checking the voters list. He urged the people to go to the nearest Shiv Sena (UBT) office and check the correct name to ensure that there is no mistake in it.
BJP should come together and raise their demands
The former Chief Minister said that centers are being opened at various places for the convenience of the voters, because it is very important for the people to know whether they can cast their vote in their polling center or not, so that we come to know in some way that the youth are being deprived of their franchise. Thackeray said that if BJP is demanding improvement in the voters list then they should go to the State Election Commission along with the opposition. We have never demanded improvement in the voters list in the name of religion. We will approach the court to improve the voter list. If Shelar agrees that there are some irregularities in the list, then BJP should also be a party to it.
