Kharge said that in 2011, when the then Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee brought the GST Bill and the BJP opposed it at that time. He said that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat and he also strongly opposed it. But today the BJP government is celebrating this, as if it has done a big job by recovering tax from the common people. He said that for the first time in the history of the country after independence, it is happening that farmers have been taxed and the Modi government has decided to impose GST on at least 36 items in the agriculture sector.
64 percent share comes from the pocket of the poor
