S jaishankar slams eu: Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar attacked the European countries trying to influence India’s geopolitical attitude on the global platform. Speaking in the Arctic Circle India Forum 2025, he said that India is looking for partners, not those preachers who preach abroad, but do not follow those principles in their country.
‘Europe in reality check zone’
Jayashankar, taking a dig at Europe, said, “When we see the world, we seek partners, not the preachers. Especially the preachers who preach abroad, but do not follow it in our country. I think some part of Europe is still struggling with this problem.” He also said that Europe has now entered the ‘reality check zone’, but it has to be seen how much they can move in this direction.
He clarified the expectations of India, saying, “If we have to develop a partnership, there should be equality in mutual understanding, sensitivity and interests. It is important to understand how the world works. This progress is on different levels in different parts of Europe. Some countries have moved forward, some are still behind.”
Jayashankar furious with EU’s statement on Pahalgam attack
The statement came in terms of Pahalgam terrorist attack (22 April 2025) in terms of the reaction of the European Union (EU), in which 26 civilians, mainly tourists died. India described this attack as Pakistan -backed, but EU and Western countries advised India to solve a solution through dialogue. Describing it as a preaching attitude, Jaishankar said that India needs allies and not those who give knowledge.
Earlier also gave advice to Europe
This is not the first time Jaishankar showed Europe a mirror. Earlier, when Western countries banned Russia during the Russia-Ukraine War, India continued to import oil from Russia. In response to Western concerns on this, Jaishankar said, “Europe should give priority to its energy needs and then ask India to do something else.” He also said that Europe will have to get out of the mentality that their problems are the problems of the world, but the problems of the world are not their problems.
India’s global status strong
Jaishankar insisted that India has now become so important on the global platform that every big event in the world affects it. He expected Europe to accept the multi-polar world system and show sensitivity in partnership with India.
