Does the Chairman get a salary?
The administration does not pay any salary or monthly honorarium to the student union president or other officials, but the university releases a fixed fund every year for the work of the student union. This fund is spent on students’ welfare, cultural programs and other activities of the university. This money is not given to any one person, but is used through the entire student union committee. The committee decides how much will be spent on which work and its complete account is handed over to the university administration.
What facilities does the Student Union President get?
The Student Union President and other officials are given a separate office in the university campus, where they listen to the problems of the students and interact with the administration. They have the right to participate in administrative meetings and are recognized under special protocols at major university events, in addition, they can participate in policies and decisions related to students. They are also given staff support, official identity card and some other administrative facilities, so that they can act as a link between the students and the administration.
