Mohan Bhagwat: On completion of 100 years of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat participated in a program held in Pune on Monday. Bhagwat suggested that one should not wait to celebrate milestones like jubilee or centenary, but should aim to complete the given work in the stipulated time. He told the people present there, “The Sangh has completed 100 years facing challenges and facing many storms, but now it is time to think why it took so long to unite the entire society.”

Highlighting India’s rising stature on the global stage, Bhagwat said, why does the world listen so attentively when the Prime Minister speaks? They are being heard because India’s strength is now visible in the places where it should truly be visible. The RSS leader said that it is generally believed that when India progresses, the world’s problems are solved, conflicts reduce and peace is maintained. He said, “It is recorded in history and we have to recreate it. It is the need of the hour. The current global situation demands this from India and that is why the volunteers of the Sangh have been working with the intention of completing this mission from the very first day.”

Sangh volunteers sacrificed their lives
Let us tell you, Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the founder of RSS, started the Hindutva organization in Nagpur in 1925. Referring to the early months and years of the Sangh, Bhagwat said that he had no confidence that his work would yield good results. He said, “The volunteers of the Sangh sowed the seeds of success by sacrificing their lives and paved the way for change.”
Sangh talks about social unity
Narrating an anecdote, the RSS Chief said that once he was told that the Sangh had come 30 years late. Bhagwat said, “I replied that we did not come late. Rather, you started listening to us late.” He said that when the Sangh talks about the power of dialogue and working together, it means the entire society. Our foundation lies in unity in different ways. We should move together and for that religion is necessary. In India, all thoughts come from a single source. We must move forward in coordination, because everything is interconnected.
