Mark Carney is 59 years old, he was born in 1965 at Fort Smith of Northwest Territories, Canada. Growing up in Edmonton, Carney went to America for further studies and studied economics from Harvard University. He then received a master’s degree from the United Kingdom and then in 1995 received a doctorate in Economics from Oxford University.
Work done in banks
Mark Carney has worked in big banks of the world for a long time. In 2008, Carney was appointed Governor of Bank of Canada. While in this post, he got recognition worldwide. Carney played an important role in reviving Canada from the financial crisis of 2008. At the same time, in the year 2010, Time magazine chose him among the 25 most influential people in the world. The next year in 2011, readers Digest Canada awarded him the title of ‘Most Trusted Canadian’ and in 2012, Euromani magazine chose him by the Central Bank Governor of the Year.
First became a non-British citizen post
In 2013, Carney worked as the Governor of the Bank of England for which he came to the UK. He became the first non-British citizen to lead this institute in 300 years of history. He served in this position by 2020 and then in 2020 he started working as a special messenger for the UN’s climate action and finance.
