Apart from this, he will also personally meet US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s grandfather Jared Kushner in Berlin.

We will get sure guarantee: Zelensky

Answering the questions of journalists, Zelensky said that Ukraine should get firm guarantees from the US and European allies, which are given to NATO members. America and some European countries had stopped Ukraine from joining the military alliance NATO. He said that this security guarantee is an opportunity to stop another wave of Russian aggression. This is the only agreement from our side. Apart from this, Zelensky also stressed that any security guarantee should be legally binding and should also have the support of the US Congress. At present, he is hoping to get some updates from the meeting held between Ukrainian and American military officials at the State Guard. He also said that till now he has not received any response from America on Ukraine’s new proposal on peace plan.

Putin asked for Donetsk region

Washington has been trying for months to end the war between Ukraine and Russia, while Trump has been pushing for an early end to the war with Russia and is becoming increasingly frustrated with the delay. One of the biggest obstacles to the agreement is control over Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region, which is occupied by Russian forces. At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin says that one of the main conditions for peace should be that Ukraine immediately withdraws its troops from that part of the Donetsk region that is still under its control, and Zelensky has rejected this demand outright. Zelensky further said that the US had proposed the idea for Ukraine to withdraw from Donetsk and create a demilitarized free economic zone there, which he rejected as impractical.
