Hariyali Teej 2025: Every year on the Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Shravan month, Hariyali Teej, a festival known as the symbol of unwavering love, dedication and marriage of Shiva and Parvati. Importance of Hariyali Teej and its religious recognition
It is believed that on this day, Goddess Parvati received Lord Shiva with her tenacity and devotion as a husband. Because of this, worship of Shiva-Parvati on Hariyali Teej is considered special fruitful. By fasting on this day, the husband’s age is long, married life becomes happy and a woman gets the blessings of unbroken good fortune. This day is equally auspicious for virgin girls, because the fast done with reverence can give them the desired life partner.
How to worship greenery Teej at home
On the day of Hariyali Teej, take a bath in the morning and wear clean clothes and pledge to fast by lighting a lamp of ghee in the worship house. On this day, there is a tradition of abandoning food and water and fasting. Suhagin women make 16 adornments and wear green sarees, green bangles, bindi etc., which are considered a symbol of prosperity and love. First purify the place of worship with Ganga water, coat dung and decorate the post of Mata Parvati. It is considered best to make a statue of Shiva-Parvati with soil or sand, but if it is not possible, then you can install their picture or idol.
Call Shiva-Parvati and anoint with Gangajal and Panchamrit. Offer items of makeup to Mata Parvati. Dedicate Belpatra, Dhatura, Akshat, betel nut, flowers, fruits, naivedya, sandalwood etc. in worship. Finally, read the fast story and perform Aarti.
Post -worship process
After the end of the worship, flow the statue and worship material made of soil or sand in a holy river or water source the next day. By doing this process with full devotion and enthusiasm, the fruit of fast is obtained.
