Lucknow News: Attacking the SP, the Chief Minister replied that before 2017, the status of 1.56 lakh basic and allied schools in the state was very bad.
Lucknow News: Replying to the opposition’s charge of reducing the Uttar Pradesh government instead of expanding education, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath claimed in the assembly on Thursday that no school in the state has been closed. During the continuous 24-hour discussion on ‘Vision-2047’ in the assembly, Adityanath said that the education system in the state has become stronger and modern than before. He said that schools are not being closed, but they are being converted into ‘integrated complexes’ with better facilities. He clarified that these are schools that are less than 50 students and who are located within a kilometer radius. He said that they are being merged into a large and equipped premises so that the student-teacher ratio can be maintained at 22: 1 and the quality of education can be improved.
School conditions were very bad before 2017
Earlier, during the discussion in the House, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, Mata Prasad Pandey alleged that he had reduced it instead of expanding education. He alleged that Adityanath merged 29,000 schools and closed 10,000 of them. When we used to run PDA school, you used to get angry, where will these children study? Pandey further alleged that under a well planned strategy you have tried to deprive the poor of education. Attacking the opposition, especially the Samajwadi Party (SP), the Chief Minister replied that before 2017, the status of 1.56 lakh basic and allied schools in the state was very poor. The teacher-student ratio was unbalanced, lack of infrastructure and the rate of leaving school was the highest in the country.
All round development of UP
He said that a change was called under the School Chalo Abhiyan and Operation Rejuvenation started in July 2017 and today the result of that is that the picture seems to be changed. Counting the department -wise schemes, the Chief Minister said that in the last eight and a half years, all -round development of UP has taken place. On the issue of employment, the Chief Minister said that before 2017, there was irregularities and bias in the recruitment. So far, 8.5 lakh youth have been recruited, of which 1.75 lakh are women. He said that women’s manpower participation has increased from 13.5% to 35%, while unemployment rate has come down from 19% to 3%. Counting the achievements of law and order, the Chief Minister said that today one cyber police station has been active in all 75 districts and now the process of setting up cyber headquarters inside the state is going on.
Health services strengthened in the state
Giving detailed information about the work done for the farmers, he said that UP is the leading state of the country in providing electricity to its donors. He said that there has been unprecedented improvement in rural electrification and by June 2025 2.50 lakh Majars have been electrified. Responding to the opposition’s questions on the health system, Adityanath said that in eight years the health model of UP has improved a lot and double medical colleges are open. The Chief Minister said that two new AIIMS have been installed in Gorakhpur and Rae Bareli to strengthen health services in the state. He gave a detailed details of the government’s schemes.
