Zubeen Garg Death: Assam has suffered a major shock with the death of singer Zubeen Garg. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has made a big claim regarding Zubeen’s death. The CM said in the Assembly on Tuesday that the death of singer Zubeen Garg in Singapore is a case of “plain and simple murder”. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the circumstances of Garg’s death has also added murder charges in the case.
Claim of murder of Zubeen
CS Sarma was speaking in the Assembly during the discussion on the adjournment motion brought by the opposition on Singer’s death. On the request of the Chief Minister, the Speaker approved the proposal. Sarma said, “After the initial investigation, Assam Police was convinced that this was not a case of culpable homicide, but a plain and simple murder. Hence, section 103 of the BNS was added to the case within three days of his death.” He said the SIT under the CID of the state police has so far arrested seven people, examined 252 witnesses and seized 29 items in connection with the case.
The motive behind the crime is shocking- Sarma
Sarma claimed, “One of the accused murdered Garg and others helped him. Four to five people are being booked in the murder case.” “After the chargesheet in the murder case is filed in December, the investigation will be expanded to include negligence, criminal breach of trust and other aspects,” he said. The CM claimed that the SIT will file a “definite charge sheet and the motive behind the crime will shock the people of the state.”

He sang more than 38,000 songs in 40 languages. 52 year old Zubin became famous across the country with the Bollywood hit song “Ya Ali”. The entire Northeast was in mourning due to his death, schools and shops were closed and lakhs of fans attended the funeral. Now the SIT investigation is awaited to be completed. Sarma’s statement suggests that the investigation may reveal more shocking revelations.
