Jharkhand News: In Jharkhand, BJP has strongly attacked Hemant Soren. BJP said that the JMM led coalition government is not able to provide basic facilities to the people. BJP released the ‘charge sheet’ a day after the completion of one year of the second term of the Hemant Soren government. BJP state chief and leader of opposition in the state assembly Babulal Marandi alleged that the India Bloc government had given seven guarantees to the people, but not a single guarantee has been fulfilled yet. Marandi alleged that the government had promised a domicile policy based on 1932 land records and had pledged to protect regional languages and culture. It is cheating people in the name of domicile policy. Tribal culture, religious places and traditions have been under continuous attack in the state for the last six years.
No information about ‘Maiya Samman Yojana’
He said that the government had guaranteed to provide 10 lakh jobs, but it is patting itself on the back by giving a few thousand jobs. Marandi claimed that the government had guaranteed to provide LPG cylinders at Rs 450, increase the monthly ration from 5 kg to 7 kg per person and purchase paddy from farmers at Rs 3,200 per quintal. This guarantee remained incomplete. The opposition leader claimed that Hemant Soren government’s ambitious ‘Maiya Samman Yojana’ has also failed. The government had promised to provide a benefit of Rs 2,500 to women aged between 18 to 50 years under the Maiya Samman Yojana. This guarantee also proved to be a sham. At the time of assembly elections in 2024, the number of beneficiaries under this scheme was 55.10 lakh, which has now reduced to about 30 lakh. Interestingly, the portal is not accepting any new registrations.
Large scale looting in the state
Marandi said the promises of opening degree colleges in all blocks, engineering and medical colleges in every district and developing 500-acre industrial parks in all districts remained unfulfilled. He alleged that the state witnessed scams related to liquor, examinations, DMFT funds, manpower supply and tenders in the last six years under the JMM-led coalition rule. Marandi alleged that looting of sand, stone chips and coal is taking place on a large scale in the state under the protection of the police. Instead of progressing, Jharkhand has gone backward in the last six years. The government has given protection to infiltration from Bangladesh. According to the 1951 census report, the ST population in Jharkhand was 36 percent, Hindus were 87.9 percent and Muslim population was 8.9 percent. By 2011, the ST population declined to 26 percent, Muslims to 14.5 percent and Hindus to 81.7 percent. Soren was sworn in as the 14th Chief Minister of Jharkhand on November 28 last year, when the JMM-led alliance came to power for the second consecutive term by securing 56 seats in the 81-member Assembly.
