CM Bhagwant Mann: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday said that the house in Chandigarh which BJP is calling ‘Sheesh Mahal’ is the government residence and his camp office. Bhagwant Mann asked BJP to stop its dirty campaigning. Bhagwant Mann said that if BJP really wants to see what ‘Sheesh Mahal’ looks like, then they should visit the private residence of their leader and former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh in Mullanpur, located on the outskirts of Chandigarh. BJP had on Friday alleged that former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal was being provided ‘Sheesh Mahal’ with seven-star facilities under the quota of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Whereas Kejriwal is neither an elected MLA nor a part of the state government.
Kejriwal is super CM of Punjab: BJP
BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala alleged in a video message that the people of Delhi removed Kejriwal from the ‘Sheesh Mahal’ of the capital, but the mentality did not change. In Punjab, ‘Sheesh Mahal 2.0′ is being built with taxpayers’ money under the Chief Minister’s quota because Kejriwal is the super CM of Punjab. After other BJP leaders including Punjab attacked Aam Aadmi Party over this issue, Bhagwant Mann launched a sharp counter attack on Saturday. Bhagwant Mann said in a video message that he strongly condemns the false and dirty propaganda being carried out by BJP. Bhagwant Mann claimed that BJP has no agenda for Punjab and that is why it is expressing its frustration in this way as the people of the state had rejected him in the 2022 elections. Bhagwant Mann also accused BJP of trying to divert people’s attention as Aam Aadmi Party is increasing its support base in Gujarat.
BJP is spreading misleading and dirty propaganda: AAP
The Chief Minister of Punjab said that BJP is spreading misleading and dirty propaganda that Punjab Government has built Sheesh Mahal in Chandigarh. It has been claimed that house number 50 located in Sector-2, Chandigarh is Sheesh Mahal, where Kejriwal lives. Chandigarh is a union territory which is directly under the Centre. Show me even one letter in which it is written that we have allotted a house to Arvind Kejriwal. The Chief Minister said that I want to make it clear that on the day I took oath (as Chief Minister) on March 16, 2022, government residences were allotted to the Chief Minister and other ministers. Kothi No. 45 located in Sector 2 is the official residence of the Chief Minister. He said that similarly, Kothi No. 50 located in Sector-2 is the camp office of the Chief Minister. This is part of my house. This is a camp office/guest house. The Chief Minister said that guests and other dignitaries from across the country come and meet him at the camp office and some even stay there.
