Mexico News: There was an explosion and a massive fire in a department store in the capital of Mexico. 23 people died in this incident and about 12 people are seriously injured.
Mexico News : On Saturday, an explosion occurred in a department store in Hermosillo, the capital of Mexico’s northwestern state of Sonora, causing a massive fire. 23 people died and 12 were seriously injured in this incident. It is being told that the injured have been admitted to 6 hospitals. Sonora Governor Alfonso Durazo shared a video of this incident on social media and said that the fire broke out in Hermosillo, the capital of Sonora state.
High level officials are investigating
Gustavo Salas Chavez said that preliminary investigation has shown that people died due to poisonous gas entering the body through inhalation. He also told that now high level officers are investigating the matter. The Governor also said that at present we have not received any such indication from which it can be inferred that the fire was started intentionally. On the other hand, Attorney Governor said that the forensic team has started examining the dead bodies. In the pictures going viral on social media, a massive fire is seen in Waldo’s store. In a video, a burnt man is seen falling at some distance from the entry gate of the store.
Mexico’s President expressed grief
At the same time, local reports are claiming that the explosion or fire may have been caused by an electrical fault. However, the fire brigade says that the matter is being investigated whether there was an explosion or something else. Apart from this, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo also expressed grief. He wrote on social media post that my deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who died in the fire in a store in Hermosillo city. I am in contact with Sonora Governor Alfonso Durazo to provide assistance. He further said that I have also instructed Home Secretary Rosa Isela Rodriguez to send a relief team to help the families and the injured.
