Chhattisgarh News: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said on Friday that the state is moving towards becoming a hub of technology and innovation in Central India. CM Nava was speaking on the 10th foundation day of Raipur-based Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT). He also inaugurated the two-day national seminar ‘Make in Silicon’ at the institute. SAI said the event is an important step towards strengthening India’s semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem and furthering the country’s goal of technological self-reliance. He highlighted India’s rapid progress towards technological independence under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said India has achieved historic progress through semiconductor missions, electronics manufacturing and chip design initiatives. This mission is not just about infrastructure, but about empowering the youth and promoting innovation.

Semiconductors are the backbone of modern life, powering mobile phones, satellites, defense systems and artificial intelligence, he said. Initiatives like Make in Silicon will provide significant impetus to India’s chip revolution. Chhattisgarh is fully prepared to play an active role in this national mission. The state’s new industrial policy includes special provisions for the semiconductor sector. SAI said that Chhattisgarh offers skilled human resources, strong industrial infrastructure, uninterrupted power supply and conducive environment for technological development. He said that the foundation stone of a semiconductor unit has already been laid in Nava Raipur, which will generate direct and indirect employment for the youth. He further said that Nava Raipur is being developed as a center of IT and innovation. SAI also mentioned the Chhattisgarh Anjor Vision Document, which focuses on sustainable development and identifies semiconductors as a priority sector.

He urged that the state government is now emphasizing not only on ease of doing business but also on the speed of doing business. Said that together we should make Chhattisgarh a center of knowledge, technology and innovation in Central India and actively contribute to India’s Semiconductor Mission. Chhattisgarh Finance Minister OP Chaudhary said that there is immense potential in the field of education and technology in the state today. He said that we are living in an era driven by technology. The recent global turmoil caused by the Microsoft server outage shows how deeply technology impacts our lives, economies, and global systems. We should prepare now to face such challenges. Youth should make technical proficiency, research and creative thinking the basis of their life. On this occasion, Higher Education Minister Tank Ram Verma, Director of IIIT Nava Raipur Professor Om Prakash Vyas and others were present. ‘Make in Silicon’ National Seminar on Indigenous Semiconductor Infrastructure is being organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at IIIT Naya Raipur.
