Who was Satya Sai Baba: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday attended the birth centenary celebrations of late spiritual guru Sri Sathya Sai Baba. On this occasion, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, great Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar, actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, Kinjarapu and G. Kishan Reddy was also seen with the PM. In the birth centenary celebrations of Satya Sai Baba, PM Modi also released a coin and stamp in the memory of the Guru.
PM Modi said, “The centenary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba is not just a festival, but a divine blessing. Even though Sai Baba is not physically among us, his spirit of love and service shows the way to crores of people.” From former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar to many politicians and actors, they consider Sai Baba as their guru. Sachin Tendulkar and Aishwarya Rai have deep faith in Sathya Sai Baba.

Who was Satya Sai Baba?
Sri Sathya Sai Baba was one of the most respected spiritual teachers in the world. Devotees call him Satya Sai Baba, Sai Baba or Swami Baba. He was born on 23 November 1926 in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh. Since childhood, he had spiritual inclination, deep thinking and supernatural powers. At the age of 14, he had declared himself the incarnation of Sai Baba of Shirdi. He believed that God resides in every human being, hence one should serve human beings. His followers across the world are spreading his message of love, peace and unity through devotional songs, satsang, service and spiritual study.
Devotees built Prasanthi Nilayam
Throughout his life, Sathya Sai Baba preached the message of love, kindness, service and selfless sacrifice. He not only provided spiritual guidance but also strengthened the weakest sections of the society through services like education, health and drinking water. In 1950, devotees of Sathya Sai Baba built a temple, a residential complex and a spiritual compound. He named this spiritual complex “Prasanti Nilayam”. Today, this ashram provides accommodation and food facilities to thousands of devotees who come here and engage in spiritual activities.
