West Bengal News : A female Booth Level Officer (BLO) in Nadia district of West Bengal committed suicide on Saturday and now the atmosphere in the area is tense. It is being told that the woman committed suicide due to overwork. The family members of the deceased woman say that she was under a lot of stress due to SIR work and committed suicide. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed surprise at the death of the BLO and said that it has now become really worrying. In the suicide note shared by the CM, the deceased held the Election Commission responsible for this result.

EC to take responsibility for the deaths

Trinamool Congress claimed that 34 people, including BLOs, have died during the SIR process that started on November 4 and demanded the ECI to take responsibility for the deaths of these people. Secondly, Chief Minister Banerjee said in her ex-post that the news of the death of another BLO, a female para-teacher, is very sad. Rinku Tarafdar has blamed the Election Commission in a suicide note before committing suicide in her house today. He said how much more will she know now? How many more people will have to die for this SIR? How many more dead bodies do we need to see for this process? This has really become quite worrying. Regarding this matter, a police officer said that a 52-year-old woman, a para-teacher in Vivekananda Vidyamandir, was found hanging from the roof of her house. The family says that there was a lot of pressure due to the workload of the SIR.

Body sent for post mortem

The police officer said that the body of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem and further investigation is going on. Apart from this, the family members said quoting the note of the deceased that she was not associated with any political party and was working as a BLO. In the note written in Bengali, the deceased alleged that I wanted to live and my family did not lack anything. But for this job they have pushed me into so much humiliation that I have no option but to die. Only the Election Commission is responsible for this result. She said that I cannot bear the burden of this humiliating work. I am a part time teacher and my salary is nominal compared to my hard work. The deceased further said that I had completed 95 percent of the offline work and I was not able to work online. Also, despite informing the BDO office and my supervisor, no action was taken.
