Importance of hoisting the flag on Ram temple

The tradition of hoisting the flag in temples has special significance in Hindu religion. The flag fluttering on the top of the temple symbolizes the presence of the deity and the entire place where it flutters is considered sacred. It is believed that the flag is a medium between the divine energy and the sanctum sanctorum. Flags and banners are also described in Valmiki Ramayana and Ramcharitmanas. The flag hoisting at Ram temple was done in Abhijeet Muhurta. Abhijeet Muhurta was from 11:52 to 12:35 in the afternoon. The marriage of Lord Ram and Sita also took place on this day, hence this day becomes even more special.
