Gujarat News: Politics has intensified regarding the seizure of huge quantities of drugs in Gujarat. Meanwhile, Congress claimed that drugs are being caught but no strict action is being taken against anyone.
Gujarat News : The temperature of politics has become high regarding the supply of drugs in Gujarat. Drugs worth Rs 16 thousand crores were seized here in the last four years. Meanwhile, Congress claimed on Tuesday that the Gujarat government is accused of not taking any concrete action. Congress MLA Jignesh Mevani had said that if action is not taken against liquor smugglers and drug dealers, policemen will lose their jobs. Meanwhile, relatives of policemen carrying banners took out rallies against Mevani in Palanpur town of Banaskantha, as well as in Patan and Vav-Tharad districts, and asked the Vadgam MLA to apologise.
The supply of drugs has been uninterrupted
The protesting people accused Jignesh Mevani that he keeps targeting the local policemen and also keeps insulting them. Gujarat Congress leader Lalji Desai said that a few days ago, Mevani along with common people had conducted a public raid on a shop selling drugs near a school and had talked about action against him. Desai further said that in response to this, Gujarat Home Minister said that if any educated person talks about law then do not worry, I am here. He said that today the supply of drugs is going on unabated in Gujarat and instead of taking action against those people, the State Home Minister is saying that the policemen should oppose the Jan Akrosh Yatra of Congress.
Drugs worth Rs 16 thousand crore seized
The Congress leader claimed that the maximum corruption in Gujarat today is in the Home Ministry. Earlier, former Chief Minister Vijay Rupani himself had said that the highest corruption in Gujarat is in the Revenue Department and after that is the Home Ministry. Desai claimed that drugs worth about Rs 16 thousand crores have been seized in Gujarat in the last four years, but no one was found guilty in any of these cases. Also, on November 21, Mevani along with some people from Shivnagar in Tharad city went to the office of the Superintendent of Police of the newly created Vav-Tharad district and alleged large-scale sale of liquor and drugs in the area.
