Constitution Day 2025: CM Siddaramaiah gave a big statement on the occasion of Constitution Day. He said that those who prefer Manusmriti instead of the Constitution should be identified.

Constitution Day 2025: The Constitution of India has completed 76 years and on this occasion, a collective reading of the Preamble of the Constitution took place in the Parliament. Apart from this, programs are also being organized at various places across the country. Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday asked people to identify those anti-Constitution Manuwadis who prefer Manusmriti over the Constitution. Siddaramaiah warned that before the implementation of Dr. BR Ambedkar’s Constitution, an unwritten Manusmriti was prevalent in the country. He was speaking after inaugurating the Constitution Ceremony 2025 here. He said that the rules against humanity and equality in Manusmriti are not needed in Dr. Ambedkar’s Constitution. This is the reason why Manuwadis oppose our Constitution.

The purpose of our Constitution is to eliminate inequality

CM Siddaramaiah said that creating an equal society and eliminating inequality is the biggest objective of the Constitution of our country. Siddaramaiah reminded the people present there that we the people of India are the basic mantra of the Constitution. According to him, the Constitution was approved after a full discussion in the Constituent Assembly for a year on what kind of Constitution the people of this country need. He told that there are federal, unitary, written and unwritten constitutions in the world. Our constitution is written. Also, the number of castes and religions in our country cannot be seen in any other country. This is the reason why Baba Saheb gave such a constitution to the country which the people also assimilated.

People of high caste are not leaving castes: CM

At the same time, while answering the question that Ambedkar had not made the Constitution, the Karnataka CM said that Ambedkar’s deep understanding of the caste system and its dangers inspired him to include the provision of reservation. He further said that despite the constitutional ideals of liberty, equality and fraternity, the CM regretted that even after many years of independence, these desires remain unfulfilled. He said that even after reformers like Basavanna fought against the caste system in the country, the upper caste people are not leaving the caste. He further said that the caste will weaken only when the lower caste Shudras get economic strength. He also emphasized on his government’s Bhagya Scheme to achieve the constitutional goal of eliminating inequality.
