Afghanistan-Pakistan Clash : A fierce clash was seen on the Durand Line between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The Afghan army entered the Pakistani border on Saturday night and attacked seven different areas with weapons. The Taliban government’s Defense Ministry confirmed the attack early on Sunday, saying its security forces had retaliated and conducted successful operations. The Afghan Defense Ministry clearly said that if the opposing side again violates the territorial integrity of Afghanistan, our army is always ready to respond on the border and will respond in such circumstances.
Pakistani posts targeted
Security sources said Afghan forces targeted Pakistan posts at Angoor Adda, Bajaur, Kurram, Dir, Chitral in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Baramcha in Balochistan. Pakistan Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi described Taliban attacks on border posts as unprovoked and also accused them of attacking civilians. He said that the firing on civilians by Afghan forces is a gross violation of international laws. He further said that the brave forces have responded quickly and effectively and any provocation will not be tolerated. He said that the Pakistani army is alert and Afghanistan is being answered with bricks and stones.
Afghan gave a befitting reply
The situation between the two neighbors deteriorated following repeated terrorist attacks by Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) allegedly using Afghan soil, including an attack in Orakzai district of restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa last week. During this period, 11 army personnel including a Lieutenant Colonel and a Major were killed. There were reports of explosions from the capital of Afghanistan on Thursday night. Kabul blamed Islamabad for the attacks, but the Pakistani military refused to confirm or deny its involvement. Inspired by the Kabul attacks, Afghan security forces launched massive attacks on Pakistan on Saturday night.
Pakistan also attacked
At the same time, Pakistan started retaliatory action early on Sunday, in which many border areas were attacked and border posts were destroyed. For now, no official statement has come from Pakistan in this matter. However, security sources have confirmed that Pakistan forces deployed along the international border have targeted several Afghan border posts.
