Actually, the government has approved 17 big projects with an investment of Rs 7,172 crore under the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme i.e. ECMS. This is not just an announcement of investment, but a strong beginning of India’s dream in which the country is moving towards becoming a global hub of high-value electronic components.

Projects of 9 states

These 17 projects are expected to produce Rs 65,111 crore in the coming time. This means that this approval will not only give a new impetus to the industry, but will also bring employment and new opportunities for lakhs of people. The expansion of these projects is spread in about 9 states. These include many special components like camera modules, multi-layer PCB, connectors, oscillators, electronic enclosures. Electronics Hub

On this occasion, Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that, these projects have proved that India’s journey of becoming an electronics manufacturing hub is going in the right direction. He also said that to achieve success in the future, India will have to strengthen its design teams and ensure Six Sigma quality standards in every product. According to Ashwini Vaishnav, strong partnerships with indigenous suppliers and excellent quality systems are the real mantra for progress. This is why quality systems will be an important part of the evaluation of this scheme.

strong supply chain

Ashwini Vaishnav also said that in the era of changing geo-politics and geo-economics, the challenges will become bigger. In such a situation, strengthening the supply chain and increasing control over production will be very special for India. This strength will determine India’s competition level. The government is also going to soon bring a new skilling framework for electronics manufacturing, which will give the new generation an opportunity to work in this fast-growing sector.

ECMS Scheme

With the approval of these 17 new projects, a total of 24 projects have got the green signal under the ECMS scheme. This is an indication of India’s rapidly growing electronics capacity. It can be said that our country is not just a consumer of electronic products but has moved towards becoming a strong manufacturer at the global level.
