Punjab Election 2027: Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu said on Monday that BJP will contest all 117 assembly seats in the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections. He almost rejected the possibility of an alliance with Shiromani Akali Dal. Asked whether the BJP will again forge an alliance with the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), Bittu said his party’s stand is clear that it is preparing to contest all 117 assembly seats in Punjab during the 2027 assembly elections. Talking to journalists here, he said that we are preparing for 117 assembly seats. He said that BJP’s Punjab unit working president Ashwini Sharma has also made this clear. Targeting SAD on the issues of drugs and sacrilege, Bittu said that if we compromise with them (SAD) today, what face will we show to the people.

Targeted at Chidambaram

He said that the party is also contesting the Tarn Taran assembly by-election alone. SAD had broken ties with the National Democratic Alliance in 2020 over the issue of three now repealed agricultural laws. Responding to Congress leader P Chidambaram’s comment on ‘Operation Blue Star’, Bittu asked Punjab Congress leaders to clarify their stand. Bittu said that senior party leader Chidambaram is saying that it was the mistake of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Punjab Congress leaders should clarify their stand on Chidambaram’s statement. If your leaders are saying this, then you should also say something. It is known that Chidambaram had said in a literary program in Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh on Saturday that Operation Blue Star was a wrong way to deal with the militants and Indira Gandhi paid the price of this mistake with her life.

Real face of Congress exposed: Bittu

Rajya Sabha MP Chidambaram, during a conversation with journalist and author Harinder Baweja on her book ‘They Will Shoot You Madam: My Life Through Conflict’, had said that there was a way to catch all the terrorists, but Operation Blue Star was the wrong way and I believe that Mrs. Gandhi paid the price for this mistake with her life. Chidambaram said that this mistake was a joint decision of the army, intelligence, police and civil defense and you cannot completely blame Mrs Gandhi. Operation Blue Star was a military operation conducted between 1 June and 10 June 1984 against armed terrorists led by Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale hiding in the Golden Temple complex in Amritsar. On 31 October 1984, Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her Sikh bodyguards. Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu said that Chidambaram’s statement has exposed the real face of Congress.
