Prashant Kishor Voter ID: Now only a few days are left for Bihar Assembly elections. Before the elections, a big revelation has been made about strategist turned politician Prashant Kishore. Jan Suraj Party founder Prashant Kishore is now embroiled in a new controversy. Information about Prashant Kishor being a voter in two states has come to light. According to official records, Kishor is registered as a voter in West Bengal at 121, Kalighat Road, which is the address of the Trinamool Congress headquarters in Kolkata’s Bhawanipur assembly constituency. An election officer of West Bengal informed that this assembly constituency is the constituency of Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee.
PK is a voter of two states
The officer further said, “His polling station is listed as St. Helen’s School, B Ranishankari Lane.” Kishor worked as a political advisor for the Trinamool Congress during the 2021 assembly elections in West Bengal. Apart from this, the election officer said that Kishore is registered in his native place Karghar assembly constituency under Sasaram parliamentary constituency of Rohtas district of Bihar. He also informed that his polling station is Middle School, Konar.

what do the rules say
Talking further on this matter, the election officer cited Section 17 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, under which no person can be registered as a voter in more than one constituency. “Section 18 prohibits multiple entries in the same constituency,” he said. In case of change of address, the person has to apply for inclusion of his name at the new location by filling Form 8. Form 8 is a declaration that he has changed his residence and gives consent for deletion of name from the electoral roll of his old place of residence.
Jansuraj’s statement
When asked about this alleged irregularity, Jan Suraj Party’s national spokesperson Kumar Saurabh Singh said, “The responsibility for this lies with the Election Commission. They had launched SIR in Bihar with so much enthusiasm. Many names were removed in the name of name deletion. When they can leave the margin of error in the case of a well-known personality like Prashant Kishor, then the promptness of the Election Commission in other places can be estimated.” Now both BJP and RJD are attacking Jansuraj regarding this matter. A few days before Bihar elections, this news has created a stir.
