Uttarakhand Utsav: Uttarakhand has turned 25 and there is a festive atmosphere in the entire state. Cultural programs were organized at various places in the state and on this occasion the government also remembered the struggles of the people who had fought to create Uttarakhand. On this special occasion, Live Times CEO Dilip Singh has taken an exclusive interview with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Read below in detail what CM Dhami said regarding the development of Uttarakhand and with what frankness he answered each question.

Live Times CEO Dilip Singh: The building of the state is a story of struggle, sacrifice and hope, so you are also a young Chief Minister… So how do you see this journey?

CM Dhami said that the idea of ​​Uttarakhand had been going on for a long time. Besides, the geographical conditions, border areas and many challenges were present here. All of that was behind the creation of this state. Also, here women, youth and agitators sacrificed their lives, after which the state was formed. He said that the dream of establishing the state was realized during the tenure of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He also gave a special industrial package after the formation of the state, so that the state could advance its prosperity. Also, this package was for 10 years which was stopped by the UPA government. At the same time, after Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister in 2024, new dimensions for the development of the state started moving forward rapidly.

Dilip Singh: What kind of changes have happened in the development of the state since 2014?

Chief Minister Dhami: The last 11 years have been unprecedented. Mainly in this, the Bharat Matters series is road, ropeway project, health services, operation of AIIMS, many drinking water schemes and also the schemes which were not getting approval for a long time also started being passed rapidly. Apart from this, Sonabandh in Dehradun, for which it had been 50 years since its approval, was also completed and now the supply of drinking water there will remain constant. Lakhwad Dam of hydropower was also waiting for approval for the last 40-50 years. Also, our air travel has started in the border areas and Dehradun Airport is currently serving a large number of people.

In this series, flights have also started from Pithoragarh to Delhi, Panthnagar airport is also being prepared for international level. Apart from air travel, a network of roads has also been built from one corner to the other. He further said that 48 temples including Kedarnath and Badrinath have been identified that are being moved towards development. Winter Yatra has also been started and during this, Prime Minister Modi himself participated. He participated in this journey near Harshil, the mouth of Mother Ganga. CM Dhami said that the Prime Minister visited ‘Mana village’, which was called the last village of India. There has been a significant increase in the number of tourists visiting Adi Kailash. The number of means of employment and self-employment has increased.

Dilip Singh: Ever since you assumed the post of Chief Minister, which decisions have you taken which have had a positive direct impact?

Chief Minister Dhami: We should move forward with the resolutions of the youth, appointments were made in a transparent manner. Jobs were given to sons and daughters of poor parents, jobs were closed on the basis of recommendations in the state. He said that apart from all this, our big resolution was also that a new history was created in the state which changed the government in five years that in the year 2022, BJP was again elected in Uttarakhand and the government was formed. Also, all the resolutions we took before the public were fulfilled in a practical manner. Chief Minister Dhami further said that we had promised to bring equal citizenship law for the people and we also fulfilled it. With this, Uttarakhand has become the first state in the country where Uniform Civil Code (UCC) was implemented after independence.

CM Dhami said that we have also made an anti-conversion law because the demography of Devbhoomi cannot be spoiled. Apart from this, anti-riot law has also been made to control riots. There is not even an inch of space in Devbhoomi for people who riot. Besides, only those who damaged government and private properties during the riots will be punished.
