120 Bahadur: Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming film ‘120 Bahadur’ is embroiled in controversies before its release. In fact, during the hearing on Monday on a petition filed in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the Central Government clearly said that a decision will be taken on the complaint of the petitioners within 2 days. Let us tell you that this petition was filed by ‘United Ahir Regiment Morcha’ and relatives of the soldiers martyred in Rezang La War. His biggest demand was that the name of the film ‘120 Bahadur’ should be changed to 120 Ahir Veer. He says that out of 120 soldiers of Rezang La, 113 were from the Ahir community. This is why this collective bravery should be shown equally in the film.

Add names of soldiers
The petition also said that the names of all 120 soldiers should be added to the film, historical facts should be corrected and a correct disclaimer should be included. If this cannot be done, then this film should be declared a complete fiction. Senior advocate Dheeraj Jain, appearing for the government, said that action will be taken on the complaint of the petitioners under Section 6 of the Cinematograph Act. The Center will review it and give its decision within 2 days.

specialty of the film
The Rezang La battle that took place at an altitude of 18,000 feet in the Chushul sector of Ladakh in 1962 is considered very special in Indian military history. According to official records, out of 120 soldiers, 114 were martyred. According to the petition, this collective sacrifice has been blurred in the film. Apart from this, Major Shaitan Singh has been presented as a lone hero, whereas this battle was a symbol of the bravery of an entire team. Let us tell you that Major Shaitan Singh was awarded Paramvir Chakra after martyrdom in this battle. At the same time, the petitioners say that by showing only them at the center in the film, the contribution of the entire Ahir Regiment is being minimized.

tampering with the story
Advocate Abhinav Sood, on behalf of the film’s producer Excel Entertainment, said that the petition has been filed only after watching the teaser and trailer. According to the law, the story of a film cannot be decided just by looking at the promotion material. It is not right to ban or comment of any kind without watching the entire film. At the same time, the petitioners also alleged that this film is presenting history in a wrong way, which is a violation of the Cinematograph Act and Certification Guidelines of 1991. He also says that the Defense Ministry and the Censor Board have been negligent in checking facts and taking advice from the families. On the other hand, the team of ‘120 Bahadur’ says that the petitioners have already demanded reconsideration from the Center under Section 6, hence it is not right to go directly to the High Court. Well, now the makers are keeping their eyes on what decision the Central Government gives in the next two days.
