Supreme Court On Diwali Cracker : The Supreme Court has given a big gift to the people of Delhi on Diwali. The court has given permission to the people of Delhi-NCR to burn green firecrackers. However, the Supreme Court has also put some conditions along with it. This order of the court has brought great relief to the people of Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and Faridabad and they are calling this Diwali a day of firecrackers.

It is necessary to accept this condition

Hearing this, CJI said that bursting of green crackers will be allowed only from 18-21 October. Green crackers will be burst only from 8 to 10 in the night. The court further said that bringing firecrackers from outside areas into NCR will not be allowed. If fake firecrackers are found, the license will be suspended.

Green firecracker manufacturers will be investigated

It is noteworthy that during the hearing, the CJI referred to the order of October 14, 2024, under which he said that the Delhi government had imposed a complete ban on firecrackers. The court said that we have to adopt a balanced approach. For this, QR codes of green firecrackers will be uploaded on the website. Not only this, the CJI further said that the patrol team will regularly check the green cracker manufacturers.

Court asked for report

The Supreme Court has asked the Central Pollution Control Board and the State Pollution Control Board of NCR to submit a report on pollution after Diwali. No firecracker brought from outside Delhi-NCR will be able to be sold here and if found doing so, the license of the sellers will be suspended.

Air pollution increased in Delhi

Let us tell you that along with winter, the air quality in the capital has also reached ‘poor’ category after about 3 months and AQI has been recorded at 211. According to Delhi Pollution Control Board data, the air quality index in the national capital was last recorded in the ‘poor’ category on July 11. After this there was some reduction in it.
