Chhattisgarh News: For the first time, a mobile tower has been installed in Kondapalli village of Naxal-affected Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. This area has been cut off from the outside world for a long time. This village, located about 450 kilometers away from the capital Raipur and in the dense forests bordering Telangana, had no roads, electricity and drinking water till recently. In this regard, an official of the district administration said that the installation of mobile tower last week was not just a technical progress for the local community, but also a symbol of connecting with the outside world. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that his government is committed to ensure that every village and every family of Bastar region becomes a part of the mainstream of development. They should have access to digital services and new avenues of opportunities should open up for them.
danced to the beat of mandar dhol
He said that this is the beginning of a new era of trust, change and new possibilities. He said the mobile network is being provided under the state government’s ‘Niyad Nellanar’ (Your Good Village) scheme, which aims to bring development to remote villages close to security camps. As soon as the commissioning of the tower was announced last week, there was an atmosphere of excitement in Kondapalli. Women, men and children reached the tower site in procession and performed traditional rituals. People danced to the beats of Maander Dhol and residents of neighboring villages also joined in. It was told that with the mobile network, villagers can now access banking services, Aadhaar, ration, health schemes, pension schemes and educational services. The administration has been able to reach the village regularly since a security camp was set up in Kondapalli in December 2024.
daily life changed
The long damaged road in the area is being rebuilt by the Border Roads Organization and work is going on on a 50 km long stretch. The official said that electricity reached the village for the first time just two months ago, which changed daily life in many ways, including children’s education and running small businesses. The administration is organizing camps to ensure that every family gets the benefits of government schemes. Under Niyad Nellanar Scheme, 18 community services under nine departments and 25 person-centred schemes of 11 departments are being run in Bastar region. Apart from this, ration is being distributed in 403 villages around 69 new security camps, which include seven districts including Bijapur. In the last two years, 728 mobile towers have been installed in this area.
