'I will become a kingmaker', TMC in tension due to Humayun Kabir's statement

Humayun Kabir: Suspended Trinamool Congress MLA Humayun Kabir created a political uproar in West Bengal. After creating uproar over Babri Masjid, Humayun Kabir has now announced the formation of a new party, due to which the tension of the ruling TMC has increased. Humayun Kabir said that after the 2026 assembly elections in West Bengal, he will emerge as a “kingmaker”. He claimed that no government could be formed without the support of his new political party.

Will launch new party on 22 December

Kabir claimed that neither the ruling TMC nor the BJP will be able to touch the majority mark on their own in 2026. Kabir told reporters on Tuesday, “I will become the kingmaker after the elections. No one can form a government without my support.” He also told that his new party will be announced on December 22. Humayun Kabir said, “I will contest elections on 135 seats. You will see that the party I will form will win so many seats that whoever takes oath to become the Chief Minister, will need the support of the MLAs of my party.” Asked whether his organization would be named ‘National Conservative Party’, Kabir said, “I will tell everything later. You will know after December 22.”

Humayun Kabir is day dreaming- TMC

TMC ridiculed his claim and said that he is day dreaming. TMC state general secretary Arup Chakraborty said, “Humayun Kabir is daydreaming. He should try to save his security deposit before discussing government formation.” If Kabir forms his own party and fields candidates on 135 seats, then definitely a large part of TMC’s Muslim vote bank can be cut. 27 percent Muslims of West Bengal are a big factor in forming the government, whose support Mamata Banerjee has been getting till now.

Is Humayun Kabir in controversies?

Humayun Kabir has announced that he will rebuild the Babri Masjid in West Bengal, the foundation of which has been laid in Murshidabad on 6 December. Now Humayun is collecting money to build Kabir Masjid. Till now he has received donations up to Rs 3 crore. After getting entangled in the Babri Masjid controversy, TMC suspended Kabir from the party, after which he has announced to enter politics by forming his own party.
