IND vs SA Test Series: After the Indian team’s shameful defeat against South Africa, many questions are being raised. Meanwhile, the former Indian player said that at present many players do not play on the home pitch.
IND vs SA Test Series : Team India is facing a lot of bad news after losing 0-2 in the two-match series played between India and South Africa. After such a poor performance, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has taken a dig at the Indian batsmen. He said that the batsmen of Team India have become like NRIs. He also claimed that he is not completely ready to play on home pitches. Manjrekar says that after being selected in the Indian team, players rarely practice or play first-class cricket on home grounds, most of their time is spent playing cricket abroad. He said that this is the reason why the experience of playing on the domestic spin track becomes weak.
This happened due to lack of home ground
Giving examples of cricketers who do not play domestic cricket, Sanjay Manjrekar said that batsmen like Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant have played 9 to 12 Test matches on foreign soil in the last 2 years, but they did not get that many opportunities in India. Let us tell you that in the four innings of the two test matches against South Africa, the Indian team did not cross the 250-run mark in any of them. Also, only one batsman played a half-century innings. Manjrekar clearly says that such results cannot be prepared on home ground. He said that when Indian batsmen play well in domestic cricket and get selected in the Indian team, then they leave domestic first class cricket completely. This is the reason why when he comes on the field to play on Indian pitches, he feels like a stranger on the pitch.
Manjrekar gave this advice
Apart from not playing on home ground, Sanjay Manjrekar also raised questions about his technique. He said that aggressive play sometimes gives advantage in front of fast bowlers on foreign grounds, but stand and deliver time does not work on slow pitches with spin. According to him, only skill, defense and rotation of strike can make a batsman successful on a turning track. Apart from this, Sanjay told that England and Australian teams invite India to play again and again, because Team India collects huge amount from abroad. Due to this compulsion, Indian players are deprived of playing cricket on their own soil. India will not play test matches for the next eight months.
