Zilla Parishad School: Jalindernagar Zilla Parishad School of Khed Tehsil has been declared the winner in the Community Chop Prize category out of 50 shortlisted schools.
Zilla Parishad School: Four months after being selected for the ‘Best School Award’ in the world, a district council school in Pune district has won the Community Option Award in the 2025 edition of this global competition. The award recognized the school’s colleague teaching system, where students learn from each other. At a virtual ceremony on Tuesday night, the organizers announced that the Jalindernagar Zilla Parishad School of Khed Tehsil has been declared the winner in the Community Chop Prize category out of 50 shortlisted schools.
Many countries were involved in the race
Significantly, the district administration was about to close this school in 2022 because only five students used to study in it. After the National Award winning teacher Dattatreya Ware was transferred there, he motivated the local residents to reconstruct the school infrastructure and implemented new teaching methods, which led to an increase in enrollment. School now has 120 students. The world’s best school award is provided every year by London-based T-4 Education, which is a global platform of more than two lakh teachers from more than 100 countries. These awards are provided in five categories: community cooperation, environmental action, innovation, conquest over adverse conditions and support of healthy life. Community option awards are given on the basis of public voting. The other finalists for the 2025 awards were Brazil, United Kingdom, Dubai, Pakistan, Italy, Costa Rica and Argentina schools.
Happiness among teachers and students with the award
In this award ceremony held virtually, the finalists joined their school campus live. As soon as the name of Jalindernagar school was announced, a wave of happiness ran in the campus. Speaking to PTI, Ware said that the school will be awarded the award at the World Education Summit to be held in Abu Dhabi in November. He said that we were selected on the basis of new teaching practices adopted by the school and strong community support received by us. Ware, which is lovingly called Guruji, said that this belief will increase the confidence of our teachers and students and other schools will also inspire our model to adopt our model. The teaching practices started by him also include the ‘subject friend’ system. In its quotation, T-4 Education said that the District Council School is bringing revolution in Jalindernagar government school education.
