The rain has caused a lot of havoc. River-drains are in spate due to rain. In Dumka district of Jharkhand, a 50 -year -old woman was swept away in a boiling drain due to heavy rains. Officials said on Thursday that heavy rains have caused a lot of damage to life. IMD has issued Orange Alerts for Garhwa, Palamu and Chatra districts till October 4 for Latehar, Hazaribagh, Bokaro, Koderma, Giridih and Dhanbad. On Wednesday, many districts like Koderma, Chatra, Hazaribagh, Dumka and Ranchi received heavy rains. Rain continued on the day of Dussehra festival on Thursday in the state capital and various other areas of the state.
IMD expressed the possibility of rain
The incident of Dumka occurred when a woman named Savitri Devi came out of her house in Gilanpada area of Dumka city on Wednesday night. Jagarnath Paddy, in -charge of the Town Police Station, said that while walking in the water to the knee, she slipped into a drain about 50 meters from her house and was swept away. He said that due to waterlogging, she could not guess the distance between the drain and her house. His body has been recovered and sent for post -mortem. IMD said that there is a possibility of more rain in the state for the next few days. Abhishek Anand, in -charge of Ranchi Meteorological Center, said that light to moderate rains and heavy rains at some places are likely to occur at many places on October 2.
Water on roads, traffic disrupted

Apart from this, there is a possibility of sporadic rains with strong winds at a speed of 40 kmph across the state till 6 October. According to the bulletin issued by IMD, yellow alert has been issued for Lohardaga, Gumla, Simdega, Ranchi, Khunti, West Singhbhum, Bokaro, Seraikela-Kharsawan, East Singhbhum, Ramgarh and Dhanbad till 3 October. The temperature is expected to increase by 3-5 degrees Celsius in the next three days. Officials of Dumka district administration said that due to heavy rains, cracks have come in many houses. Traffic has been disrupted due to water filled on the roads. A lot of goods of shopkeepers have been wasted due to flooding of shops.
