UP Government: The Uttar Pradesh government has launched a major crackdown on Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators across the state. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued orders to set up detention centers in every division of the state. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued instructions to 17 urban local bodies to prepare a detailed list of illegal immigrants under their jurisdiction, a senior official said on Wednesday. These lists will be handed over to the respective Commissioners and Inspectors General for further investigation. In the first phase of the action plan, Commissioners and Inspectors General have been directed to set up detention centers to house the persons identified during the verification process. The official said that the Chief Minister has also directed that detention centers should be established in every division of the state.
Illegal activities will not be tolerated in the country
The official said that following the instructions of the Chief Minister, the administrative machinery has come into action. Verification, documentation and field assessment has started in many districts. On November 22, Adityanath had issued clear instructions to all district magistrates in the state to take prompt and strict action against illegal immigrants and directed that temporary detention centers be set up in each district to house the infiltrators. The Chief Minister had said that law and order, national security and social harmony are the top priorities. Any kind of illegal activities will not be tolerated in the country and state. Officials said that illegal immigrants with foreign citizenship will be kept in these centers and will be kept there till the necessary verification process is completed.
Infiltrators will be sent to their country
Chief Minister Adityanath has said that illegal immigrants kept in detention centers will be sent to their countries of origin as per established procedures. It is known that Uttar Pradesh shares an open border with Nepal, allowing free movement of citizens of both countries, but there are checks on residents of other nationalities. Chief Minister Yogi said that in view of the recent terrorist incidents in the country, it has become necessary to identify the infiltrators and send them back to their country, so that there is no threat to the security of the country and the state. He has instructed the officials not to be negligent in this work. In the first phase, 17 urban local bodies of the state have been entrusted with the task of identifying infiltrators.
