Never stop dreaming: Captain Harmanpreet Kaur

Women World Cup 2025: After winning the World Cup, Indian team captain Harmanpreet Kaur said that we had once dreamed that we too would lift the trophy. Today this dream has been fulfilled and God has heard us.

Women World Cup 2025: Indian women’s cricket team created history by winning the World Cup and registered its name in golden letters in history. This victory is like reminding people of 1983 and now the Indian team is immersed in an atmosphere of celebration, there is no limit to their happiness. Meanwhile, Team India captain Harmanpreet Kaur recalled those moments of her childhood from where her attraction towards cricket increased. He said that you should never stop dreaming, because you never know where your destiny will take you. She further said that she has never stopped dreaming since she held her father’s big cricket bat in her childhood and is feeling very humble after winning the first Women’s World Cup for India.

Used to take out the bat from dad’s kit

Harmanpreet Kaur said that when I started getting an idea of likes and dislikes in my childhood, I had a bat in my hand from the same time. I also remember that we used to play with a bat from my father’s kit. However, the bat was quite big and one day my father cut his bat for me. After this, we started playing with him and during that time, when I used to watch the Indian team playing on TV, I used to say in my mind that one day I too will do the same. At that time I did not know anything about women’s cricket. Harmanpreet’s journey that started in childhood has now reached lifting the World Cup trophy. However, this moment has come after a lot of struggle and many defeats. She said that I was dreaming of when I would wear this blue jersey.

God fulfilled dreams one by one

The 36-year-old captain said that she is feeling very relieved and humble after her childhood dream has been fulfilled. Also, for me personally, this moment is very emotional, because it was a childhood dream for me. When I started playing, I had dreamed that we would definitely win the World Cup. Also during that time I thought that if I get the command of the team, I would not want to lose it at any cost. I kept all these things deep in my heart and today when this dream has come true, I am not able to express it completely in words. God heard everything one by one and now it seems like magic. He said that now I cannot believe how suddenly the dream has come true and we are very happy to win the World Cup.
