Congress on Sunday cornered PM Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over paper leak, displacement of families in search of employment and heinous crimes in Bihar. Attacking the ruling coalition, Congress’ General Secretary for Communications Jairam Ramesh cited criminal incidents and asked the Prime Minister if this was the Mangal Raj of his trouble-shooting government. The NDA has been warning voters in Bihar that the return of the Grand Alliance to power in Bihar will bring back the era of jungle raj of RJD rule. Even after 20 years the condition of Bihar is pathetic
Ramesh said that the future of lakhs of youth in Bihar is being ruined. Ramesh alleged that when this was not enough, the business of selling fake degrees is also flourishing. The Congress leader asked why the hard work and future of lakhs of youth of Bihar was compromised? According to a caste-based survey conducted in Bihar, 64% of the population or about 90 million people still survive on only Rs 67 per day. Why is Bihar in such a pathetic condition after 20 years of your government? The Congress leader took a dig at the slogan of the BJP-led NDA’s double engine government. Ramesh said that due to the policies of the double engine government, 3.18 crore people were forced to leave the state in search of employment. Asked the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister whether they would take responsibility for the displacement of these families. He alleged that CAG has exposed a scam worth Rs 70,000 crore in 10 departments in Bihar. Ramesh said that please also pay attention to the heinous crimes that took place in Bihar last week.
Retaliated, raised questions on Nitish government
He said that in just seven days there were eight major murders and shooting incidents. In which Dularchand Yadav was murdered in Mokama, father and son supporting Upendra Kushwaha were murdered in Bhojpur, ASI Anirudh Kumar was murdered by slitting his throat in Siwan, BJP leader Vivekananda Prasad was shot in his house in Bhagalpur, while in Rohtas, hotel employee Nitish Kumar was shot while asking for the bill. In Lakhisarai, a young man named Shailendra was stabbed to death. Said that Mantoon Sahni was murdered while returning from Chhath festival in Samastipur. Apart from this, Vikas Kumar was shot in broad daylight in Patna. The Congress leader said that these are some of the major criminal incidents that took place in just one week. Citing NCRB data, Ramesh said that on an average eight murders, 33 kidnappings and 133 heinous crimes take place in Bihar every day. The Congress leader taunted that Prime Minister, is this the good fortune of your double engine government?
