Barabanki Road Accident: A horrific road accident took place in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh on Monday evening. A car collided head-on with a truck. Six people have died and two have been injured in this accident. Six people were killed and two others were seriously injured in a head-on collision between a car and a truck in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district on Monday evening, officials said.

The accident happened around 10 pm when both the vehicles were on the bridge over Kalyani river near Kutlupur village of Deva police station area. All the deceased were traveling in a car and were residents of Fatehpur town. The collision was so severe that the car was so badly damaged that a crane had to be used to remove it from the road. There was no number plate on the car and it looked new. On receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot and took the injured to the nearby community health center and then to the district hospital. Officials said that four people died on the spot, while two were declared dead in the hospital.
District Magistrate Shashank Tripathi, who reached the spot along with Superintendent of Police Arpit Vijayvargiya, said, “Six people died in the accident and two seriously injured people have been admitted to the hospital.” Tripathi said that preliminary investigation has revealed that the car had entered the truck lane, due to which the accident occurred. SP Vijayvargiya said, “There were eight people in the car. Five men and one woman died. Two others are injured.” He said the passengers had hired a car for an outbound trip and were returning to Fatehpur when the accident occurred.
Both vehicles were at high speed
An official said that the dead have not been identified yet. According to eyewitnesses, the truck was moving at a very high speed and after seeing the car coming from the front, the driver lost control, due to which this horrific accident occurred. Police said that they have seized the truck. Due to this incident there was traffic jam on the bridge. Additional Superintendent of Police (North) Vikas Chandra Tripathi said that preliminary investigation revealed that both the vehicles were traveling at high speed. He said that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem and the truck driver is absconding.
